Cris Miguel
 

Puppeteer, actress, author and storyteller, instrumentalist, singer, dancer and craftswoman. She studied music at the Paraná School of Arts.

 

Since 1997, she has been a member of the Mawaca group, internationally recognized for its research into the music of different peoples around the world. With the group, she has participated in tours and festivals in Europe, Asia, and Latin America, receiving important awards in the field of music and popular culture.

 

Founder of the renowned Opera in a Suitcase Company. With 19 productions over 16 years of activity, the company has received important awards and helped popularize puppet theater in Brazil, disseminating it with excellence through television.

Author and actress of the TV show "Baú de Histórias" on TV Ratimbum and TV Cultura, in which 80 episodes were recorded from 2005 to 2009.

Actress and screenwriter for the program "Caderninho Verde," a TV Cultura program in partnership with the environmental secretariat, who received the 2014 Environmental Merit Award from the Brazilian Institute for the Defense of Nature (IBDN) for her contribution to the environment and environmental protection.

 

In partnership with the company Letra e Ponto, it developed and recorded a series of stories in audiovisual format for the public education network, totaling 90 programs produced between 2020 and 2022.


Throughout her career, she has created and participated in over 40 theatrical productions, receiving national and international awards for best show, best actress, and best soundtrack at festivals in Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, Ukraine, and Georgia. Her creations have toured countries such as Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Turkey, China, Bolivia, Argentina, Portugal, Bulgaria, Hungary, Greece, Montenegro, Russia, Ukraine, Morocco, Georgia, Luxembourg, and Spain.

 

She is currently the artistic director of Casa Passarinha, a cultural space founded alongside Danilo Tomic in São Paulo, where she develops her own creations and maintains an active repertoire of puppet shows, music, and stories, presented in theaters, libraries, schools, and cultural centers in Brazil and abroad. She also teaches courses in puppetry and music.
